ASUS Upgrade a unit that has 3YR Onsite Service to also have 3 Year Hard drive Retention
This is an ASUS Hard Drive Retention (also called "Keep Your Drive") service add-on, not a physical product -- it applies to a device that already carries 3 years of ASUS Onsite Service, adding a matching 3-year Hard Drive Retention benefit. Under a normal warranty repair, a failed storage drive is replaced by ASUS and the original (potentially still holding sensitive company data) drive is taken away for disposal or refurbishment. Hard Drive Retention changes that: if the drive needs replacing under warranty, the customer is allowed to keep the original defective drive rather than surrendering it, which matters for organisations with data-security or compliance requirements who don't want a drive that may have held sensitive information leaving their premises.
