ASUS Adds 3 Years Onsite Service to a unit that has 3 years base warranty
This is an ASUS Onsite Service (OSS) upgrade, not a physical product -- it applies to a device that already carries a 3-year base hardware warranty and upgrades the repair method for that same 3-year period from a standard carry-in/return-to-base process to ASUS Onsite Service. In practice, this means that instead of the customer shipping the device away for a warranty repair and waiting for its return, an ASUS technician is dispatched to the customer's premises to carry out the repair -- reducing downtime without changing how long the base warranty itself lasts. This upgrade doesn't add extra warranty years or accidental damage cover on its own; it specifically upgrades the service level of the existing 3-year term. As with ASUS's other care-pack add-ons, it generally must be purchased and activated within a limited window of the original invoice date.
