The Dell Networking X1018 is a Smart Web Managed switch offering 16 Gigabit Ethernet (1GbE) RJ45 ports plus 2 additional 1GbE SFP ports for fibre uplinks, aimed at small and medium businesses that want more control than an unmanaged switch offers without the complexity of a full enterprise-managed platform. It runs fanless and silent, with a switch fabric capacity of up to 16Gbps, an 11.9Mpps forwarding rate, 16K MAC address table and a 1MB packet buffer. Management is through a web-based GUI (with limited CLI and SNMP support), and features include port mirroring, an internal DHCP server, DHCP client support, RMON-based port statistics, jumbo frame support up to 9,000 bytes, broadcast storm control and 4 priority queues per port for basic QoS. It's backed by Dell's lifetime limited hardware warranty and ships with a built-in 40W AC power supply. As a desktop-style unit it is not rack-mountable out of the box, though Dell sells an optional rack-mount kit for the X-Series range as a separate accessory.
