The Dell PowerVault MD3200i is an iSCSI SAN storage array in a 2U rack chassis, configured here with dual 4-port controllers (for a total of eight 1Gb iSCSI Ethernet ports across the pair), no hard drives included, redundant 600W AC power supplies and rail kit, backed by 3 years of Dell ProSupport with Next Business Day (NBD) service. It provides 12 large-form-factor 3.5-inch drive bays for SAS or NL-SAS drives, and with dual controllers can serve up to 8 servers directly connected, or up to 32 servers when connected through an Ethernet switch fabric. Each controller carries 2GB of cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10. With an optional premium feature key the array can scale up to 120 total drives by adding MD1200/MD1220 expansion enclosures.
