The ROG Strix SCAR 17 is Asus's competitive-gaming-focused 17-inch laptop line, and this configuration pairs a 12th-gen Intel Core i9-12900H with 16GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory (across two slots) and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, alongside an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 with 8GB of GDDR6 — a strong 1440p gaming GPU from Nvidia's Ampere generation, one generation behind Nvidia's newest cards but still a capable performer. The 17.3-inch display runs at WQHD resolution. It ships with Windows 11 Home and a 2-year international/PUR (Perfect Warranty) style cover, finished in black. Being a 12th-gen/RTX 3070 configuration, this is an older-generation SCAR model rather than Asus's current lineup, worth noting for buyers comparing it against newer Core Ultra/RTX 40-50-series SCAR models also in this catalog.
