Garmin Airmar R111LH - 2kW

This is an Airmar R111LH CHIRP transducer, another genuine Garmin-branded accessory sonar sensor, but built for a very different installation style from the R109LM thru-hull unit elsewhere in this range — the R111LH is an in-hull or pocket-mounted transducer, meaning it can be bonded inside the hull (using an in-hull mount, on hulls with 0-25 degree deadrise) or set into a purpose-built pocket, without putting a fitting through the hull skin at all. That makes it attractive for boats where a below-waterline hull penetration isn't practical or desired.
Rated at 2kW, the R111LH covers CHIRP Low (38-75 kHz) and CHIRP High (130-210 kHz) — a wider-spread frequency pairing than the R109LM's Low/Medium combination, giving both deep-water low-frequency penetration and the finer target separation of high frequency from one sensor. Garmin lists it with a maximum depth rating of roughly 8,000 feet and a 10° x 19° beamwidth, and it supports both traditional CHIRP sonar and Spread Spectrum scanning modes on a compatible display. Like the R109LM it also reports depth and water temperature to the connected Garmin Marine Network — sonar modules such as the GSD 26 — and is built as a bare-wire, plastic-bodied transducer for wiring into an existing marine network rather than a plug-and-play consumer sonar puck. It's a genuine offshore-grade sensor intended for a dedicated sonar black box installation, not a basic fishfinder transducer.
