The Alto Power Series AP2400 is a 2400VA line interactive UPS for a small office: several PCs, a network rack with switch and router, a NAS or a small server. At a 0.6 output power factor it delivers about 1440 W, and its microprocessor-controlled buck and boost AVR keeps voltage steady through the dips and spikes of South African supply. Output is sine wave on mains and modified sine wave on battery, suited to IT gear, modems and PABXs. Alto quotes 10 to 15 minutes of runtime depending on load, so you have time to save work and shut down safely during load shedding. The charger reaches 90% in 6 to 8 hours and keeps charging with the UPS switched off. Other features: cold start, self-test, MOV surge protection, an LCD status display and a USB port for Alto's monitoring software. The black tower is 158 x 380 x 198 mm and weighs 13 kg. In the box: the UPS, a manual, software and two IEC male-to-female cables. Warranty is 6 months.
