Amphenol 3.5mm Mono Phone plug, Diecast Shell, Satin finish

The Amphenol KM2P is a mono 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) phone plug, the small two-contact jack used on consumer and semi-pro audio gear. It is used to make or repair mono leads for things like camera and recorder microphone inputs, wireless bodypack and belt-pack inputs, intercom and headset lines, small speakers and test and measurement leads where only a tip and sleeve are needed. The body is diecast zinc alloy with a nickel finish, and the contacts are nickel plated; the cable is soldered to the two terminals and clamped inside the shell. Amphenol lists a maximum wire size of 16 AWG (1.5 mm²), a mating life of 1,000 cycles, IP40 protection, UL94 V-0 or HB flammability ratings, insulation resistance above 200 MΩ and an operating range of -20 to +65 °C, and the part complies with EU RoHS 2. It is a low-current signal connector, not intended for loudspeaker power. Supplied as a single plug; cable not included.
