The Amphenol KS3P is a 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) stereo TRS mini-jack plug with nickel-plated contacts and a nickel-finished zinc diecast shell with a black rear boot. It is used to make or repair headphone leads, laptop, phone and media-player audio cables, camera and wireless-receiver microphone leads, and small stereo patch cables, where the metal body is far more durable than the moulded plugs on most consumer leads. Contacts are soldered and accept wire up to 18 AWG (1 mm²). Amphenol rates it at over 0.5 mA depending on the mating connector and cable (it is a signal connector, not a power connector), IP40, UL94 V-0 or HB, over 200 MΩ insulation resistance, -20 to +65 °C and 1,000 mating cycles.
