The Amphenol HP-3-MDG is a grey 3-pole locking power chassis connector for the power-out side of a device, in the standard D-size housing. Amphenol lists it as comparable to the Neutrik powerCON NAC3MPB-1. It is fitted to the back panels of lighting fixtures, powered speakers, amplifiers and power distribution boxes as the mains OUTPUT used to daisy-chain power to the next unit; the grey colour and keying mean only a grey power-out cable connector (such as the Amphenol HP-3-FG) can mate with it, so it cannot be confused with a blue power-in socket. It has 3/16 inch solder tabs with an insulation divider between terminals, a PA66 GF30 glass-filled thermoplastic housing and brass contacts with silver plating, and is rated 25 A with IP54 protection, UL94 V-0 flammability, insulation resistance of at least 2 GΩ and an operating range of -25 to +75 °C. The D-size flange uses the same panel cut-out and two-screw fixing as XLR D-series connectors. Supplied as a single connector.
