The Amphenol AC-GROMMET-GRN is a green 1/4 inch (7 mm) cable grommet for Amphenol connectors, listed by Amphenol as suiting the AC series XLR, T series 1/4 inch phone plugs and Musician series connectors. The grommet sits inside the connector's backshell and grips the cable jacket, providing strain relief and a neat seal where the cable enters the plug. Because it is visible at the back of the connector, a coloured grommet is also a simple way to colour-code microphone, instrument and line cables by channel, length or owner, and it is a useful spare when re-terminating a lead whose original grommet has perished or gone missing. Amphenol specifies a thermoplastic elastomer with a hardness of 80-87 and a durability rating of 1,000 mating cycles. The 7 mm size suits typical microphone and instrument cable diameters; check your cable's outside diameter before ordering. Supplied loose, without a connector. Other colours are listed separately.
