The Amphenol AC5M is a 5-pole male XLR cable connector from Amphenol's AC series, used to build and repair 5-pin XLR leads. 5-pin XLR is used for 5-pin DMX512 lighting control, stereo microphone leads and some intercom systems, so it is a standard spare for sound engineers, lighting technicians, hire companies and installers. The AC series has a zinc diecast shell with a nickel finish, a black boot, and a chuck-style strain relief that grips the cable firmly without screws. Contacts are machined, silver plated for solder termination and take wire up to 18 AWG. Amphenol rates it at 7.5 A per contact, 133 V RMS service voltage (1,400 V AC test), IP40, UL94 V-0, -25 to +75 °C and 1,000 mating cycles, and lists it as comparable to the Neutrik NC5MX, A5M.
