The Amphenol TM2P is a heavy-duty straight 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) mono TS jack plug from Amphenol's Professional range, with a nickel-finished zinc diecast shell, nickel tip and sleeve and a thermoplastic rear section. It is built for instrument leads, speaker leads for smaller amplifiers, effects and unbalanced line connections that get plugged and unplugged every night, where a cheap moulded plug would soon fail. The large body and cable clamp give good strain relief on thicker instrument and speaker cables. Contacts are soldered and accept wire up to 16 AWG (1.5 mm²). Amphenol rates it at 10 A depending on mating connector and cable, IP40, UL94 V-0 or HB, over 2 GΩ insulation resistance, -25 to +75 °C and 1,000 mating cycles, and lists it as comparable to the Neutrik NP2C and NP2X.
