Amphenol XLRnet, XLR cable plug housing to suit preassembled RJ45, Nickel

More Info

The Amphenol RJX8M is an XLRnet cable connector: a rugged XLR-style housing with a nickel finish that fits over a preassembled RJ45 plug to make an Ethernet cable tough enough for stage, touring and broadcast use. Ordinary RJ45 plugs have a fragile plastic latch that snaps when cables are dragged across a stage; the XLRnet housing adds a metal shell, a robust latch and cable strain relief, and mates with XLRnet/etherCON-style chassis connectors on digital mixers, stage boxes, lighting networks and AV-over-IP equipment. It is used by production companies and installers building Cat5e/Cat6 runs for Dante, AVB, Art-Net and similar networks. Amphenol lists it as comparable to the Neutrik NE8MC. The RJ45 plug and cable are not included.
