This is an APC 17-inch rack console — a fold-away drawer that mounts into a server rack and houses a 17" LCD screen with an integrated keyboard/pointing device, giving on-site technicians local monitor-and-keyboard access to rack equipment without permanently dedicating desk space or a full-size monitor to the rack. It slides shut into roughly 1U of rack space when not in use and folds out for access, a standard fixture in server rooms and data centres where floor space is at a premium. This is a local-access console rather than a network-based remote-access device — it needs a technician physically at the rack, unlike an IP-based KVM extender.
