Like every true online UPS, connected equipment draws continuously from the unit's own regenerated, clean AC output rather than switching over only once a mains failure is detected, removing the transfer gap that cheaper line-interactive UPS designs carry — the reason this class of UPS is the default recommendation for servers, storage arrays, and core networking gear. It uses a sealed VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid) battery, included as standard, and carries a 3-year repair-or-replace warranty on the UPS unit itself plus a separate 2-year warranty specifically on the battery — a longer unit warranty than Eaton's comparable 9SX, worth factoring in for anyone comparing the two side by side. No network management card is included on this model; anyone needing remote SNMP or web monitoring would need to add APC's optional network card separately, and the SRTRK4 rail kit is required if this is going into a rack rather than sitting as a tower.
