The APC Smart-UPS Lithium Ion Short Depth is a 1500VA, 230V uninterruptible power supply built around lithium-ion battery cells rather than traditional lead-acid — lithium batteries are lighter, last significantly longer before needing replacement, and tolerate heat better, at a higher upfront cost. The "Short Depth" design is aimed at shallow server racks or space-constrained comms cabinets where a standard-depth UPS wouldn't physically fit. It includes APC's SmartConnect, a cloud-based remote monitoring feature that lets an admin check battery health, runtime and alerts from a phone or browser rather than needing to be physically at the unit. Suited to protecting a small server, network rack or point-of-sale setup from outages.
