The APC Smart-UPS RT 8kVA 230V is an online (double-conversion) uninterruptible power supply designed for data centres and server rooms where equipment needs a clean, consistent power supply with essentially zero transfer time during an outage — a step up from simpler line-interactive UPS units. Rated at 8kVA, it can support a meaningful load of servers, storage and networking gear, and the 'RT' (rack-tower) designation typically means it can be deployed either as a rack-mounted unit or as a standalone tower depending on the installation. As with other UPS systems in this catalog, it's commonly used in South Africa as part of a business continuity/load-shedding mitigation strategy for critical IT infrastructure.
