The APC Smart-UPS SRT 8000VA is a double-conversion online UPS, the tier of backup power designed for equipment that can't tolerate even a brief transfer-time power gap - server rooms, network racks, and other business-critical IT loads. At 8000VA and 230V, it's sized for a moderate server rack or a cluster of networking/POS equipment rather than a single desktop. Being 'online' (double-conversion) rather than line-interactive means it continuously regenerates clean AC power from its battery, so connected equipment sees zero transfer time and full protection from sags, surges, and outages - a meaningful advantage in South Africa's load-shedding environment, where frequent, unpredictable outages make even a short switch-over risky for sensitive server hardware.
