The APC Smart-UPS X 3000VA is a rack/tower convertible uninterruptible power supply with an LCD status display, built to keep servers, networking gear, or other critical equipment running through a power outage or, in the South African context, through load shedding. Its convertible design lets it be installed either standing as a tower or mounted horizontally in a server rack (typically around 2U), giving IT departments flexibility depending on their setup. At 3000VA it can support a meaningful load of connected equipment for a real runtime window, with additional battery packs typically available to extend that further. Bought by businesses and data centres for backup power protection on essential IT infrastructure.
