The Asustor Lockerstor 12RD (AS6512RD) is a 12-bay 2U rackmount NAS for businesses that need large, reliable network storage in a server rack. It runs on an Intel Atom C3538 quad-core server processor (2.1GHz) with 8GB of DDR4 memory, and four memory slots allow expansion up to 128GB. Twelve hot-swappable bays accept 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA drives for up to 216TB raw, scaling to 28 drives with expansion units. Networking combines two Gigabit and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, and a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot (x4 link) is available for a faster network card. Dual 350W redundant power supplies keep it running if one PSU fails, an important safeguard where power quality is unpredictable. Four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports handle external backups, and it runs Asustor ADM with snapshots, iSCSI and backup tools. Drives are not included; it carries a 3-year warranty.
