This is an ATEN USB DVI KVM extender pair, designed to place a server or workstation's keyboard, video and mouse access up to 100 metres away over standard Cat6/6a cabling using HDBaseT 2.0 technology — far beyond the few metres a direct DVI/USB cable run would allow. It supports dual-view (independent video handling for two connected displays or extended workflows), USB 2.0 for peripheral pass-through, and RS-232 for serial device control at the remote end, at resolutions up to 1920x1200. This class of extender is used where the operator needs to sit some distance from the actual computer — a control room separated from server/AV equipment, or a workstation kept in a secured equipment room while the user works from a desk elsewhere.
