The Audac MERO5 is a high-end two-way in-wall loudspeaker with a 5-inch aluminium-cone woofer and a 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter, for discreet background and foreground music in hotels, restaurants, bars, retail stores, offices and homes. A high-quality passive crossover at 3 kHz blends the drivers, while an acoustically optimised waveguide and phase plug give wide, even dispersion of 160 degrees horizontally and 140 degrees vertically. The tweeter rotates by 7.5 degrees so the speaker can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The SlimLine grill has a border of only 1 mm and is held on with neodymium magnets, and the QuickFix four-screw mechanism with gold-plated Gold-Con spring-clamp terminals speeds up installation. It handles 50 W continuous (AES), 100 W programme and 200 W peak at 8 ohms, with 85 dB sensitivity and 102 dB maximum SPL. The speaker measures 161.5 x 236.5 x 74.1 mm, needs a 139 x 214 mm cut-out and 71 mm built-in depth, and weighs 1 kg. A cut-out template is included; a WTR24 100 V transformer is optional.
