This is a download token (Audinate part DVS-TK-RES) that can be redeemed for a permanent licence of Audinate's Dante Virtual Soundcard (DVS) for a single machine. Dante Virtual Soundcard is software that turns a Windows PC or Mac into a Dante-enabled device, sending and receiving uncompressed, multichannel audio over the computer's existing wired Ethernet connection, so no audio interface or extra hardware is needed. Once installed it appears to audio applications as an ASIO or WDM sound device on Windows and as a Core Audio device on macOS, so recording, playback, conferencing and presentation software can use it like any sound card. It gives direct access to Dante-enabled mixers, stage boxes, amplifiers, microphones and speakers on the same network, and Audinate states it can record, process and play back up to 128 channels of lossless audio. That makes it popular for multitrack recording of live events, virtual sound checks, streaming mixes, lecture capture and routing presentation audio into a venue's Dante system. The token is redeemed through Audinate's licensing portal to activate the permanent licence on one computer. This is a software licence only; no physical product ships.
