The Axxent MBK D800 (D-800 Pro Dual) is a double-sided (two-ear) intercom headset from German intercom maker axxent, designed for professional users on party-line intercom systems in theatre, broadcast, live events and stadium production. The D-800 series is built for extreme ruggedness and maximum speech intelligibility: the ear cases are made from almost indestructible PE plastic, the ear cushions attenuate outside noise while staying comfortable for long shifts, and the microphone boom is seamlessly joined to the left ear cup but can be positioned freely. The balanced dynamic microphone has a cardioid pattern with good front-to-rear rejection and an effective pop/wind screen, and particular care was taken with acoustic and electrical isolation between microphone and headphones to minimise crosstalk. The headphones handle high sound pressure for noisy environments. It connects via a 4-pin female XLR on a 1.5 m cable, suiting standard belt packs. A single-ear version is sold as the D-800 E.
