The Brother TN-279XLY is a genuine Brother high-yield yellow toner cartridge from the TN-279 series, used in Brother's current compact colour laser printers and multifunction centres such as the HL-L3280CDW, MFC-L3760CDW and MFC-L8390CDW. It is rated for approximately 2,300 pages at 5% coverage, almost double the roughly 1,200-page standard TN-279Y, so it lowers the cost per page and means fewer cartridge swaps for busy home offices and small businesses printing colour documents, reports and marketing material. Each cartridge holds one colour; the printer takes four cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) plus a separate drum unit, and this SKU replaces the yellow position only. It works alongside the matching TN-279XLBK/XLC/XLM cartridges. Using genuine Brother toner keeps colour consistent from page to page and avoids the leaks, streaking and yield shortfalls sometimes seen with generic refills. Keep unused cartridges sealed and store them flat in a cool, dry place.
