The Canon Speedlite EL-1 is Canon's flagship hotshoe flash for EOS cameras, aimed at wedding, event and press photographers who need consistent, fast flash output for long shoots. It runs from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery rather than AA cells, and it has a built-in display for quick changes to power, zoom and flash mode settings. The head tilts and swivels for bounce flash, and the flash supports Canon's E-TTL II automatic exposure system as well as manual output, so it works well on and off camera. It measures about 84.4 x 149 x 136.4 mm and weighs about 572 g. It is a strong choice for photographers who want a professional, battery-pack-powered flash instead of an AA-powered Speedlite.
