The Catchview CV-MP208 is an outdoor CCTV microphone that adds sound recording to an existing camera system. It is sealed in a metal, waterproof housing for use outside, and its built-in automatic gain control keeps voice levels steady across a monitored area of roughly 50 to 100 m². The microphone runs on 6 to 12 V DC and draws only about 20 mA, so it can usually share the 12 V supply already powering your cameras. It connects with two RCA plugs: red for power in and white for the audio signal, which is fed into the audio input of a DVR, NVR or camera that supports audio. Catchview quotes a frequency range of 300 Hz to 5 kHz, 600 Ω output impedance and a transmission distance of over 1 km over 75-3 video cable. A recorder with an audio input is required.
