It uses the 512e (512-byte emulated) sector format for broad OS/RAID controller compatibility, and supports Instant Secure Erase (ISE) — a hardware-level cryptographic erase that instantly and irreversibly wipes all data, useful for decommissioning or repurposing a drive without a lengthy overwrite pass.
