Because it's a true online double-conversion design, connected equipment runs continuously off the UPS's own regenerated AC output rather than switching over during a mains failure, eliminating the brief transfer gap that line-interactive UPS units have — critical for servers, networking gear, and other equipment that can't tolerate even a few milliseconds of power interruption. Input is via a C20 connector, with output spread across 8 x C13 and 1 x C19 outlets to accommodate a real mix of server, switch, and storage loads on one unit. The internal lead-acid battery is included and supports Eaton's Extended EBM (external battery module) option for up to 4 additional battery packs where longer runtime is needed, and it communicates over USB, RS232, or an optional network management card slot for remote monitoring.
