The Garmin fenix 8 (43mm) is Garmin's flagship rugged multisport watch shrunk into its smallest fenix 8 case size, aimed at hikers, trail runners, climbers and other outdoor athletes who want full fenix-level toughness and features without the larger 47/51mm case on their wrist. This is the Sapphire edition (AU/NZ/AFR regional SKU), with a Carbon Gray DLC Titanium bezel on a Black/Pebble Gray band. It has a 1.3" AMOLED touchscreen at 416 x 416 resolution, protected by Sapphire crystal, in a DLC Titanium with Sapphire crystal lens case that's dive-rated to 10 ATM and includes leakproof buttons and a metal sensor guard. On the titanium version this case weighs around 60g. It carries dual-frequency multi-band GPS with SatIQ, the Elevate Gen 5 heart rate sensor with ECG, Pulse Ox, full offline TopoActive mapping, a built-in speaker and microphone for calls, an LED flashlight, Garmin Pay, offline music storage, and Garmin's full suite of training/recovery metrics (Training Readiness, HRV Status, real-time stamina). Battery life on the 43mm case runs up to 10 days in smartwatch mode, up to 28 hours in GPS-only mode, or up to 21 hours with all-systems multi-band GNSS active. This is the right fenix 8 size for anyone who finds the 47mm case too large but still wants the complete premium feature set — buyers chasing maximum battery life should look at the larger 47mm or 51mm cases instead.
