The Garmin fenix 8 (47mm) is the mid-size, most popular case option in Garmin's flagship rugged multisport lineup, built for hikers, trail runners, climbers, skiers and other serious outdoor athletes who want maximum toughness and features in a still-wearable size. This is the Sapphire edition (AU/NZ/AFR regional SKU), with a Carbon Gray DLC Titanium bezel on a Black/Pebble Gray band. It has a 1.4" AMOLED touchscreen at 454 x 454 resolution under Sapphire crystal, in a DLC Titanium with Sapphire crystal lens case dive-rated to 10 ATM with leakproof buttons and a metal sensor guard, weighing around 73g. It includes dual-frequency multi-band GPS with SatIQ, the Elevate Gen 5 heart rate sensor with ECG, Pulse Ox, full offline TopoActive mapping, a built-in speaker and microphone for calls, an LED flashlight, Garmin Pay, onboard offline music storage, and Garmin's complete training and recovery metric suite (Training Readiness, HRV Status, real-time stamina, hill score, endurance score). Battery life on the 47mm case runs up to 16 days in smartwatch mode, up to 47 hours in GPS-only mode, or up to 35 hours with all-systems multi-band GNSS running. This size suits most buyers who want the full fenix 8 experience without the largest 51mm case's extra bulk and weight, while still getting meaningfully longer battery life than the smaller 43mm case.
