The Garmin Forerunner 255S is the smaller-cased sibling of the Forerunner 255, a mid-range GPS running watch for runners with smaller wrists who still want Garmin's full training feature set. This is the Basic (non-Music) version, with a 1.1" sunlight-visible transflective colour MIP display at 216 x 216px, wrist heart rate, running dynamics and power via the wrist, training readiness, HRV status, daily suggested workouts and Garmin Coach. Battery life is up to 12 days in smartwatch mode and up to 26 hours with GPS running continuously, both slightly shorter than the larger 255's runtime due to its smaller battery. As the Basic variant it has no on-watch music storage — those wanting offline playlists should choose a 255S Music model instead, which shares identical GPS and training features.
