The Fujinon LA30x7.8BRM-XB2 is a 4K portable (ENG-style) broadcast zoom lens for cameras with 2/3-inch sensors, announced by Fujifilm in 2025. It offers what Fujifilm describes as the highest-in-class 30x zoom for its type, covering 7.8 mm to 234 mm, yet measures only 190 mm long and weighs 1.8 kg, which eases shoulder-mounted operation for news, sports, documentary and live production. A rear-focus mechanism and optimised optical design deliver 4K performance across the whole zoom range, and Fujifilm's HT-EBC multi-layer coating provides high light transmission and accurate colour. The newly developed servo drive unit uses high-resolution 16-bit encoders for precise zoom, focus and iris position data, supporting virtual studio and remote production workflows. Zoom speed is adjustable from 1 second to 120 seconds end to end, suitable for both fast sports action and ultra-slow creative moves. A single button on the drive unit performs electronic flange-back adjustment, and a macro function lets the operator focus as close as 0.05 m from the front of the lens by sliding the focus ring forward.
