This unit transmits at 4kW with a maximum range of 48 nautical miles and a minimum range down to 20 metres -- useful both for spotting weather cells and traffic well offshore and for picking out close-range hazards like channel markers or other vessels in a crowded harbour. Its horizontal beam width is 3.7 deg with a 25 deg vertical beam, and it can spin up to 60 RPM for a faster screen refresh when running at speed. Feature-wise it supports dual-range operation (viewing two radar ranges simultaneously), chart overlay (radar return superimposed directly on the chartplotter's map), MARPA target tracking for automatically following other vessels (requires a separate heading sensor), Echo Trails to visualise a moving target's recent path, and Auto Bird Gain tuning to help pick out feeding birds over baitfish.
