Buying just the pedestal makes sense either as a warranty/service swap on an existing Fantom 54/56 installation, or where the open-array antenna is being sourced or reused separately from a prior installation. As with the other Fantom pedestal listings, the pedestal is the rotating motor and transmitter housing - the part doing all the physical work of spinning the array through every rotation - so it's typically the first component to need replacement on an ageing installation, well before the passive antenna array itself wears out.
