Garmin GPSMAP® 8612 (US SKU)

Garmin GPSMAP® 8612 (US SKU)

The Garmin GPSMAP 8612 is a 12-inch, non-sonar chartplotter from Garmin's 8600 series of premium marine multifunction displays, built for boats that already have sonar/radar handled elsewhere on the network and just need a large, fast, networked helm display. This "US SKU" variant ships preloaded with Garmin Navionics+ coastal and inland charts for US waters (rather than the plain worldwide basemap used on some other regional GPSMAP 8000-series units), including Auto Guidance+ automatic route plotting, so it's ready to navigate US coastal and inland waterways out of the box without a separate chart card purchase.

More Info

The 12-inch Full HD IPS panel runs at 1920x1080 for sharp, wide-viewing-angle detail even through polarized sunglasses, driven by a premium-performance processor Garmin specifies for fast map redraws, video distribution and smooth multi-window networking with other 8000-series displays on the same boat. Positioning uses combined GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite tracking for a solid fix in poor sky view. It supports both NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for instrument and engine data, plus built-in Wi-Fi for the ActiveCaptain app (OneChart syncing, smart notifications, Garmin Quickdraw community sonar data). Memory holds up to 5,000 waypoints, 50,000 track points and 50 saved tracks, comfortably enough for extended offshore or long-range cruising logs.
