Garmin GPSMAP 923xsv, Worldwide

The Garmin GPSMAP 923xsv is a combined chartplotter and sonar unit from Garmin's GPSMAP 9x3 series, built around a 9-inch high-resolution touchscreen display. The 'xsv' suffix in Garmin's own naming denotes a unit with built-in sonar plus support for Garmin's scanning sonar technologies (ClearVu and SideVu scanning sonar, and Panoptix/LiveScope live sonar via an add-on transducer/module), rather than the plain chartplotter-only 'x' models in the same series -- it's positioned as an all-in-one bridge or helm display for a boater who wants both navigation and serious fishfinding capability on one screen.
It ships with a worldwide basemap preloaded, and accepts additional chart data cards (Garmin-format cartography) for detailed regional coverage beyond the base map. Sonar-wise, it supports traditional CHIRP sonar alongside Garmin's ClearVu and SideVu scanning sonar for structure and fish imaging, and is Panoptix/LiveScope-compatible for real-time live sonar when paired with a compatible LiveScope transducer, sold separately. It connects to the rest of a boat's electronics over NMEA 2000, letting it share GPS, engine, and sensor data with other networked displays and modules, including an EmpirBus digital switching network of the kind sold elsewhere in this range. Sold as the display/sonar unit itself -- a transducer, mounting hardware, and any LiveScope module are separate purchases.
