Garmin GPSMAP® 943 (US SKU)

Garmin GPSMAP® 943 (US SKU)

The Garmin GPSMAP 943 is a 9" marine chartplotter with an in-plane switching touchscreen display at 1280x720 (WXGA) resolution, offering roughly double the processing power and 50% more display pixels than the previous-generation GPSMAP 9-series units it replaces. This is the non-sonar (chartplotter-only) version - built for navigation rather than fishfinding - and carries a 10Hz internal GPS/GLONASS/Galileo antenna for fast, precise position fixes.

More Info

It comes preloaded with Garmin's own coastal and inland mapping and supports Auto Guidance+, which calculates a route around charted obstacles using your boat's own draft, height and width data rather than a straight-line route. Connectivity covers NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for integrating with a boat's existing instruments and sensors, J1939 for engine data, the Garmin Marine Network for linking multiple displays and sonar modules, and built-in Wi-Fi to pair with the free ActiveCaptain app for chart updates, smart notifications and software updates without needing a cable or SD card. Garmin's SailAssist features (laylines, race start line guidance, wind rose) are also built in, useful even for cruising sailors, not just racers. It mounts via flush or bracket options depending on the helm layout. This unit's built-in Wi-Fi also supports Garmin Quickdraw Contours, letting boaters create and share their own custom depth-contour maps for water Garmin hasn't already charted in detail.
