The HP 120A is the original laser imaging drum for HP's compact colour laser printers: the HP Color Laser 150 series and the MFP 178 and MFP 179 series. On these machines the imaging drum is a separate consumable from the four HP 117A toner cartridges. It is rated for about 16,000 pages and serves all four colours (black, cyan, magenta and yellow), so it is replaced far less often than the toners. When the printer reports the drum is near end of life, fit a new 120A to restore sharp, even print quality.
