The HP 970XL is the high-yield black original ink cartridge for HP's Officejet Pro X series of PageWide business printers: the Officejet Pro X451dn and X451dw, X551dw, and the X476dn, X476dw and X576dw multifunction models. It holds 173.5 ml of pigment-based black ink and is rated for about 9,200 pages, which makes it the economical choice for offices that print a lot of text documents, invoices and reports on these machines. Pigment ink gives sharp, water- and smudge-resistant black text on plain paper. The pack contains a single genuine HP cartridge (HP code CN625AE), and empty cartridges can be returned through HP's free recycling programme where it is available. The boxed cartridge measures about 271 x 53 x 72 mm and weighs about 370 g. It is not compatible with the newer HP PageWide Pro 452/477/552/577 series, which use HP 973X/974X cartridges.
