Hyperkin's The Rook Travel Bag for Nintendo Switch is a heavier-duty protective case aimed at players who want more robust travel protection than a basic sleeve, built to keep a Switch, Switch OLED, or Switch Lite console safe from bumps, drops, and scratches wherever it's taken. The case combines an impact-resistant EVA hard-shell exterior with extra foam padding on the inside, giving the console two separate layers of shock absorption rather than relying on the shell alone. Inside, the case is laid out with organised storage compartments rather than a single open pocket, with enough room to hold the console itself, its Joy-Con controllers, a charging cable, and several physical game cartridges together in one case rather than spread across multiple bags. A durable zipper runs the perimeter to keep everything sealed in, and a reinforced carrying handle is built into the shell so the case can be picked up and carried directly by hand rather than only by a strap. The Rook name reflects Hyperkin's positioning of this case as a sturdier, more fortress-like option in its Switch case lineup, sitting above the brand's slimmer EVA and travel-bag options for players who travel with their console often.
