The Garmin Instinct 2S Solar Surf Edition in the Ericeira colourway is the same rugged, solar-charging 40mm Instinct 2S as Garmin's standard Solar model, finished in a white and grey coastal colour scheme named after the Portuguese surf town, with a white 20mm silicone QuickFit band. It targets outdoor athletes and surfers who want a small, tough GPS watch with essentially weeks of battery life: up to 21 days in smartwatch mode (51 days with solar charging), up to 50 days in battery saver mode (effectively unlimited with solar), up to 22 hours of continuous GPS tracking (28 hours with solar), and up to 54 hours in max battery GPS mode (114 hours with solar). The 40 x 40 x 13.3mm fibre-reinforced polymer case weighs 43g and carries a chemically-strengthened glass lens over a monochrome, sunlight-visible transflective MIP display. It is water rated to 100m (10 ATM), making it fully swim- and surf-safe, and is built to US military standard MIL-STD-810G for resistance to extreme temperatures, shock, vibration, water and moisture. It includes GPS and wrist-based heart rate tracking, and Garmin backs it with a 2-year manufacturer warranty. This is a good fit for anyone who wants the standard Instinct 2S Solar's long battery life in a distinctive surf-inspired colourway rather than the plain graphite or camo finishes.
