The KelseyVerse KV-M22D is a compact 4-in/4-out AES3 (AES/EBU) to Milan AVB network interface from UK manufacturer Kelsey Acoustics. It lets digital AES3 sources and destinations, such as console digital outputs, processors, amplifiers with AES inputs or broadcast equipment, join a Milan network with minimal latency. Milan is an open, standards-based protocol built on AVB/TSN that provides deterministic latency, reliable clock synchronisation and interoperability between certified devices from different brands; the KV-M22D is Milan certified and listed on the Avnu Alliance certified product registry. The rear panel has two female XLR AES/EBU inputs (channels 1/2 and 3/4), two male XLR AES/EBU outputs (1/2 and 3/4) and a locking RJ45 network port, while the blue front panel shows network status, per-channel input and output activity LEDs and an ID button for identifying the unit in control software. It is powered over Ethernet from an IEEE 802.3af/at/bt compliant PoE switch, so no separate power supply is needed. Optional 1U rack adaptor kits allow one or two units to be rack mounted. Typical users are live sound, installed sound and broadcast engineers building AVB/Milan systems.
