The König & Meyer 259 is a low-level black microphone stand with a telescopic boom arm, made for miking sources close to the floor: kick drums, guitar and bass amplifiers, cajons, low toms and seated performers. The stand height adjusts from 425 mm to 645 mm with a clutch, and the two-piece telescopic boom extends from 435 mm to 745 mm and locks with a T-bar screw, so the microphone can be pushed into a kick drum port or right up to a speaker cone. The base is a zinc die-cast socket with foldable steel legs, giving a stable footprint for its size, and the whole stand folds to 115 x 85 x 580 mm, small enough for a drum hardware bag. The boom end has a standard 3/8-inch thread for microphone clips. It weighs 2.08 kg and is finished in black. Stage engineers, drummers, recording studios and hire companies use it alongside full-height boom stands to cover the low positions on a stage. Made in Germany by König & Meyer.
