Here is the LaCie 12big Thunderbolt 3 48TB desktop RAID array, the larger sibling of the 6big, built around twelve 7200rpm enterprise-class hard drives for studios and post-production teams that need serious high-capacity, redundant on-set or in-office storage. Configured for RAID 5 or RAID 6, the twelve drives present as one large 48TB volume while tolerating one or two drive failures without data loss, and sustained throughput is rated at up to 2600MB/s — enough headroom for multiple simultaneous 4K/8K video editing streams. Connectivity is dual Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps) ports for daisy-chaining further devices or a display, plus a USB 3 Type-C Gen 2 (10Gbps) port for non-Thunderbolt machines, with both a Type-C-to-Type-A and Type-C-to-Type-C cable included in the box. The silver aluminium tower measures 447x237x161mm, considerably larger than the 6big to house the extra drive bays and cooling, and LaCie backs it with a 5-year limited warranty.
