This is the LaCie 6big Thunderbolt 3 108TB desktop RAID array, a professional six-bay storage tower built around six 7200rpm enterprise-class hard drives, aimed at video editors, post-production studios and creative teams who need large, fast, redundant storage on their desk. The six drives are configured for RAID 5 or RAID 6, so the array keeps working (and the data stays intact) even if one or two drives fail, while still presenting a single large 108TB volume to the editing workstation. Sustained throughput is rated at up to 1400MB/s, fast enough for multi-stream 4K and 8K video editing straight off the array. Connectivity is dual Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps) ports for daisy-chaining further Thunderbolt devices or a display, plus a USB 3 Type-C Gen 2 (10Gbps) port for compatibility with non-Thunderbolt machines; both a Type-C-to-Type-A and Type-C-to-Type-C cable are included. The silver aluminium chassis measures 237x228x161mm and LaCie backs the array with a 3-year warranty.
