This is the LaCie 2big RAID 16TB desktop storage array, a simpler two-bay sibling of the 2big Dock that drops the card reader and Thunderbolt daisy-chain ports in favour of a straightforward, more affordable RAID box. It's built around two 7200rpm hard drives that can be configured for RAID 0 (pooling both drives into one large 16TB fast volume) or RAID 1 (mirroring the data across both drives for redundancy in case one fails), giving photographers, editors and small studios a choice between maximum capacity or peace of mind. Connectivity is a single USB 3 Type-C Gen 2 (10Gbps) port, with both a Type-C-to-Type-A and a Type-C-to-Type-C cable included so it works with current USB-C laptops and older USB-A machines alike. The black aluminium enclosure measures 217x118x93mm — the same footprint as the 2big Dock, just without the extra ports — and LaCie backs the drive with a 5-year limited warranty.
