The Libec ZC-LP is a compact clamp-on zoom control for camcorders with a LANC connection (most Sony and Canon models) and for Panasonic cameras that use Panasonic's remote protocol. It lets a camera operator zoom smoothly and start or stop recording from the tripod pan handle or monopod grip without touching the camera, which is essential for steady, professional-looking shots in event, wedding, church, sports and ENG work. Zoom speed varies with how far the rocker is tilted, and a converter switch selects LANC or Panasonic mode. An inverted switch reverses the zoom direction when the unit is mounted upside down, so it stays intuitive whichever way it is clamped. The clamp fits round pipes up to 45 mm in diameter, wide enough for Libec's TH-M monopod grip and most pan handles. It connects to the camera with an attached 0.7 m cable. The unit measures 80 x 55 mm and weighs 0.12 kg. Check Libec's tested-camera list before buying.
