The Mad Catz P.I.L.O.T. 3 is a gaming headset from Mad Catz's higher-tier P.I.L.O.T. range, sitting a step above the brand's simpler F.R.E.Q. stereo headsets in terms of features and audio tuning. As the entry model in the numbered P.I.L.O.T. line (below the P.I.L.O.T. 5 RGB 7.1 and the flagship P.I.L.O.T. Pro Dual Wireless), it's built around a wired connection for reliable, plug-and-play use on PC and compatible consoles without pairing or charging. Padded over-ear cups and an adjustable headband provide comfort across extended gaming sessions, and an included microphone handles voice chat during online multiplayer play. The P.I.L.O.T. naming convention across Mad Catz's range signals a step up in build and audio quality over the F.R.E.Q. series, aimed at gamers wanting noticeably better sound and comfort than an entry-level headset while still keeping a straightforward wired setup rather than committing to the added cost and complexity of the range's RGB or wireless models.
